To celebrate “May is Bike Month”, PeaceHealth Rides is offering a FREE month for anyone on a Monthly plan. That means NEW and existing PeaceHealth Rides Monthly Plan members can join and ride bike share for FREE this May. But don’t wait too long, riders must redeem this offer before May 15. Know someone that doesn't have a bike? Bike share is a great way to join in on all the May is Bike Month festivities!
New to bike share:
1. Download the PeaceHealth Rides app in the App Store or google play, or by scanning the QR code at any PeaceHealth Rides bike or bike hub.
2. Sign up and choose the “Monthly Plan” or the “UO Monthly Plan*” option. *The UO Monthly Plan requires a uoregon email and confirming your email address at sign up.
3. At check out, enter the promo code that corresponds to the plan you chose. For promo code visit: webikelane.org and click on "FREE Month of Bike Share." Promo code available May 1st.
Switching plans:
1. Open the PeaceHealth Rides app
2.Tap the User Profile👤icon in the corner.
3. Tap “Memberships”
4. Tap “PeaceHealth Rides [plan name]
5. Tap “Membership [plan name]” (yes, again)
6. Tap”Change Plan”
7. Select “Monthly or “UO Monthly”
8. Agree to terms and use promo code at checkout.
Codes are valid to redeem through May 15th, 2022, and is good for one month of bike share on the “Monthly Plan” or “UO Monthly Plan”. This code can only be redeemed once per user. A credit card or debit card is required. “Monthly Plan” and “UO Monthly Plan” give you free 60 minutes ride per day. Rides longer than 60 minutes are billed at 10 cents for each additional minute. This DIY Ride will take you along our 13th Ave Bikeway, a two-way protected bike lane from Alder Street to Lincoln Street linking the University of Oregon Campus to Downtown Eugene.

Eugene Solar System Trail DIY Ride: All month
Bike along a 4.5-mile Section of paved path (9 miles round trip) along the beautiful Willamette River discovering our sun and its planets, even dwarf planet Pluto! Then, escape our solar system and visit our second closest star, Proxima Centauri, and its exoplanet, Proxima b, located at Eugene Science Center.

Climate Anxiety Bike Ride: 05/04
Join Lucy from the University of Oregon Outdoor Program and Riley from the Student Sustainability Center on a mostly flat sunset bike ride along the river path! This ride is 5 miles and beginners are welcome, as long as you know how to ride a bike. No bike? No problem! We will be renting bikes from PeaceHealth Rides Bike Share if you need one. Learn how to ride a bike. Many sizes of bike and helmets are available to use or bring your own. This is a free event supported by the Safe Routes to School program and City of Eugene Recreation. Youth Paddle and Pedal Trip on the Willamette: 05/08
Pedal the Willamette Bike Path to Springfield and then paddle a kayak back to the River House in Eugene! No experience is necessary for this fun time on our local river. On this dual-sport trip we explore the Willamette River on stable inflatable kayaks after biking the river path to the put-in. Bring water, snacks, clothing that can get wet, a bicycle and a helmet. We will start at the River House Outdoor Center and pedal 4-5 miles to one of the Springfield boat ramps. Trade your bike for a boat and float back down to the River House where your bike will be waiting for you. All river gear is provided. Bike and helmet available to borrow on request, please call 541-682-5329 at least a week ahead to reserve.

Shift to E-Bikes covers all the basics. A virtual workshop, local e-bike experts will share: different types of e-bikes, the benefits of owning an e-bike, key considerations when shopping for an e-bike, safe riding practices, and the rules of the road when operating an e-bike (where can you ride, and at what speed).
Attendees will qualify for a discount ($50 off an e-bike that costs less than $2000, $150 off a bike that costs $2000 or more) at participating retailers.

Sign up for one or two full days of off-road fun in Oakridge, an epicenter for mountain biking in Oregon. Our Saturday trip will be a trail-based workshop to finesse your technique, while Sunday will put skills into practice on a full-day ride on the Alpine Trail, one of the region’s flagship single-track routes. A bus will run to and from the River House Outdoor Center in Eugene each day. Bring water, a lunch and a well-maintained mountain bike or try one of our demo bikes at no additional charge thanks to a donation from the Julia Fudge family. Safari in Suburbia Bike Ride: 05/14
Join Bike Mechanics Madeline and Arden from the University of Oregon Outdoor Program as they thread the needle of suburbia, riding the hidden bike trails through Springfield to the forest and farmland of the Thurston Hills. This level 2 bike ride is approximately 30 miles long, but we will take plenty of breaks to see the sights. With horses, cows, subdivisions and firs, this safari is sure to amaze and delight. This ride will be on Saturday, May 14 from 11 am to 3 pm, with a pre-trip meeting on Thursday May 12 from 5 pm to 6 pm. The trip costs $8.00 if you have a bike, and $12.00 to rent a bike from the Outdoor Program. PLEASE NOTE: This bike ride is only open to University of Oregon students.

A Bicycle (ride) Built for Twos!: 5/22
A celebration of humankind's second-noblest-invention: the tandem bicycle. With two current and one former local manufacturer of bicycles built for two, Eugene is rich with tandems! How many Twos can we put together?
Do you have a Schwinn Twinn, Burley Bofus, Bike Friday Two'sDay, Co-Motion, or any other bicycle built for two? Give it a safety check, saddle up your favorite stoker, and meet us for a fun ride and rally at 2nd Avenue and High Street (Campbell Park) on Sunday, May 22 at 2 pm.
We'll start off with a kid-friendly 2.2-mile ride, then stop for a group photo. Adults will continue for another 19.8 miles at a brisker pace, followed by refreshments and games (tandem trackstand contest, stoker swap, etc). If you don't have a tandem, but want to join the ride, consider bringing another bicycle built for two or more (eg cargo bike, tagalong, trailer, large basket with dog, etc).

What’s better than a craft party? A reflectoration party! Grab your bike, scooter, helmet… and come on down to the Springfield Public Library for an evening of crafting with reflective stickers. Shift Community Cycles mobile repair will be on site for FREE bike safety checks and minor repairs. Free bike lights and helmets as supplies last. Coburg Bike Hub Opening Celebration: 05/26
Help celebrate the new Coburg Bike Hub on Thursday, May 26, from 10 am – 12 pm! The free public Bike Hub, located in Pavilion Park (N Willamette Street and E McKenzie Street), features a bike repair station, bike pump, and bike lockers. Situated in the heart of Coburg, and along the Willamette Valley Scenic Bikeway route, the Bike Hub also offers a solar charging USB and water for bicyclists.
Join us for a ribbon cutting and opening celebration with free coffee and pastries and giveaways, including bike lights and helmets. The Greater Eugene Area Riders (GEARs) group will also be leading a 33 mile gentle 12 to 14 MPH pace recreation bike ride leaving from Eugene and looping past the Bike Hub. Starting in Downtown Eugene and looping to the Willamette River, through the University of Oregon, and out to South Eugene this ride will highlight some new, historical, and future improvements happening in the city of Eugene.

Bike Share Along the River: 05/27
Join PeaceHealth Rides and City of Eugene's Campbell Community Center on a relaxing beginner-level bike ride along the river! Bikes will be provided as available through PeaceHealth Rides bike share. This community ride is FREE! Register to join at Getrec.org, spots are limited.
Event Location: Meet at 1st Avenue and High Street bike share hub, near the Campbell Community Center

Retro Ride Brew Tour 2022: 05/28
Social ride beginning at Shift Community Cycles for an open house. We will stop at a couple breweries for local brew samples and end up at Claim 52 for an after party. Prizes such as a brand new bicycle and other shwag items will be raffled off. All proceed go to Shifts 501c3, and Claim 52 will also donate a % of beer sales.

This event is in partnership with GEARs(Greater Eugene Area Riders) and BEST(Better Eugene-Springfield Transportation) in order to highlight the path improvements within the city as well as changes that the county has made making bicycling more enjoyable and safer.
