During the month of May, free rentals are available after initial fitting or assessment for $5. Free rental is available for same-day rentals only, 30 minutes to full day (9am - 5pm, Mon - Fri). Standard rates apply for multi-day rentals. Not available on Monday, May 29 due to the holiday.

    This one will feature candidates for Eugene City Council Ward 1: Ethan Clevenger, Ted Coopman, Eliza Kashinsky.

    As a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit, BEST does not support or oppose any candidate for elected office. Rather the happy hours are intended to be fun social events that also educate members of the public and candidates about key transportation issues affecting our community.

    Join Bethel, 4J and Springfield Safe Routes to School programs, the City of Eugene, the City of Springfield, and Shift Community Cycles for this fun event with pedal-powered smoothies, bike checks, information about bike share, and workshops for families and individuals of all ages on biking for transportation.

    We’ll start with balancing and gliding without pedals or training wheels. Some will learn to pedal in one session, while others may need more practice to reach that final goal. You don’t need your own bike to participate, but please bring a helmet and bike if you have one.     There will be loaner bikes and helmets available, and new riders race for FREE. There will be an hour of registration and practice before races begin. Staff will be available to help new riders. The more the better!

    There will be raffle prizes and food on site. $5 will be donated for every rider registered to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. USABMX is one of the top fundraisers for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and tracks all over the USA and Canada hold RFL events annually.

    Join other Emerald Valley Ultimate (EVU) players and their families by biking to this Saturday's games at Century Fields (behind the new YMCA). We'll have some extra bike parking set up and some free stickers (including the May is Bike Month passport sticker) and schwag to give away for those who biked to the game (or that share a story of biking to school or work during the week). There are schools from Shasta, Kelly, Monroe, Roosevelt, Spencer’s Butte, ATA, and Kennedy that have teams (some schools have multiple teams) so there will be a lot of games happening and Ultimate is a fun sport to watch so even if you don't have a kiddo on a team you can still come and enjoy a ride to watch some Ultimate (and earn another MiBM passport sticker)!

    If you park downtown (free on the weekends!) you can hop on the just completed High Street protected bikeway and ride all the way to the game on the cities newest "all ages and abilities bikeway"! Then come back down to Saturday Market for lunch. Enjoy the sunshine, ride a bike, watch Ultimate!

Meet the Dirt Maiden's at the Creswell Pump Track to learn the basics of riding on uneven surfaces, braking, standing up, pumping, and cornering so you can get comfy before hitting the trails!

    This is aimed at BEGINNERS. Never rode a mountain bike before? Only rode a couple times and want to build confidence? This is the space for you!!

    Join Erin* and Lucy at Shift Community Cycles for birds and bike-themed All-Levels Yoga class! This free, 1-hour class is open to all, including teens/youth and yoga beginners.

    Celebrate Mother's Day with a grounding and accessible class centered on bird-themed poses (asanas) and balance practice to improve your cycling posture and quiet your mind. And stay for some tea and conversation after class, if you like!

    Wear comfortable, fairly form-fitting clothes and be prepared to take off shoes and socks.

    Bring a mat + 2 blocks if you have them; we'll have loaner gear to borrow as well!

    Come out and join us for track practice at Emerald Valley BMX! All levels are welcome even first timers!

    We have loaner bikes and full face helmets available. You're welcome to bring your own bike to ride. Riders are required to wear closed toe shoes, long sleeves and long pants covering knees. Gloves are recommended.

    We will have staff available for first timers, and to help answer any questions you may have about our BMX program.

    This practice is 2 hours long from 5-7pm. First practice is FREE- Returning riders cost is $5/person. Check in for practice nights is at the Snack Shack. See you at the track!

    Did you hear PeaceHealth Rides bike share expanded into Downtown Springfield? Join this social bike ride to learn more about bike share, get a chance to ride a bike share bike, and meet other community members! The ride will be social-paced, making a six-mile loop along the flat Riverbank Path from Plank Town to Alton Baker Park and back. Come out and explore bike share and stay for drinks afterwards at Public House!

    We're back!! Join us for the Breakfast at the Bridges (BBB) 2024 season.

    Breakfast at the Bridges is designed for path users and commuters to grab a quick bite to eat and a cup of coffee, meet City staff, learn more about transportation in Eugene, and get a bicycle safety check all at the same time.

    This signature summer event series celebrates the outdoors and encourages active transportation – especially walking and bicycling – to meet larger City goals, including healthy living, sustainability, and a vibrant business community. Breakfast at the Bridges features local advocacy organizations and businesses that actively work toward these City goals.

    Curated short films about bicycles and the outdoors, the Filmed by Bike Film Festival is coming to Eugene! UO and community partners are excited to show 1.5 hours of films and screen the winners of our local film contest. The event is also a fundraiser: all entry ticket and raffle ticket sales will go to Shift Community Cycles.     Join the UO Outdoor Program as UO alumna and author Heidi Beierle takes center stage to share insights into her memoir, Heidi Across America. A gritty story of how opening your heart to others enables you to open your heart to yourself, Heidi’s story is a depiction of homecoming to self and nation.

    As a student at the UO the summer of 2010 when she pedaled solo across the country to study bicycle tourism and rural economic development. This memoir captures the transformative personal journey Heidi experienced during her ride and offers insight about getting unstuck in life, learning to love the remarkable person you are, and finding space in your heart for America. Free and open to all, UO students and community members.

    GRiT stands for Girls Riding Together. Join us for our GRiT Ride! This is a no-stress, beginner ride designed for middle and high school girls - and all are welcome! Female and female-identifying student-athletes and adults get first dibs, but the boys and men who support them are welcome to come support.

    The Eugene Composite Team offers mountain biking for grades 6-12 with skills, trail rides, racing and community building. The team was established in 2018 and is organized under the Oregon Interscholastic Cycling League and the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA)

    Critical Mass is a worldwide movement where cyclists gather once a month to bike together in a festive and radically pro-bike environment. We ride through the streets of Eugene for about 1.5 hours and then end the ride with a social hour/mega dance party that usually includes fire spinners and/or a campfire (with libations).
